Sull'isolotto sono ubicati gli scavi dell'antico insediamento fenicio di Bithia.
Il porticciolo. È il sito forse rappresentativo della località, anche se non il più esteso. Si tratta di una spiaggia di sabbia bianca che si affaccia sulla baia racchiusa, a est, dall'isolotto Su Cardulinu e, a ovest, dal promontorio di Chia.
Promontorio di Chia. È un promontorio prominente, che domina la baia del porticciolo a est e la lunga distesa prevalentemente sabbiosa che si estende a ovest. L'elemento caratteristico di questo sito è la Torre di Chia, in buono stato di conservazione.
Sa Colonia. È una distesa di sabbia bianca, lunga circa un chilometro, racchiusa fra i promontori di Chia e di Monte Cogoni; costituisce insieme al Porticciolo le spiagge della località di Chia propriamente detta. Separa dal mare aperto lo Stagno di Chia.

Da Cala Cipolla parte un sentiero che conduce al Faro di Capo Spartivento, da cui si domina l'intera costa meridionale del Sulcis.
Come raggiungere Villa Lolu: Dall'areoporto di Cagliari Elmas o dal Porto di Cagliari prendere la SS195 in direzione Pula ; dal paese di Pula proseguire per Santa Margherita di Pula- Domus De Maria, poco prima di Domus De Maria seguire le indicazioni per Chia.

The bedrooms are large, the kitchen is well equipped and the outdoor terrace with sea view is wonderful.
The location is strategic as, by walking along the internal road in a few minutes (therefore without crossing the provincial road), you reach the first of the enchanting beaches of Chia which are all reachable with a beautiful walk.
