Spacious holiday home on a large plot with private pool and wonderful views! In the village of Quarante, in Languedoc-Roussillon, this quietly situated villa is located directly in the vineyards with views of the distant mountains. In front of the house is the owner's olive grove with around one hundred olive trees!
The villa impresses with its volume. The living room flows into the open-plan kitchen with bar and a dining room as well as a cosy sitting area with TV. From this comfortable and well-equipped area, you can access the beautiful and wide wooden terrace, which is elevated and partially covered. Enjoy the enchanting view from the deckchair over the pool to the olive groves and on to the mountains. Our little ones can let off steam while you relax. And if that gets too boring, there is a table football game and other fun games for the whole family on the mezzanine floor. The car can be parked on the property or in the large garage, which has space for several cars.
Quarante is named after the river that flows through the village. It is a lively place close to the Canal du Midi. It has a 10th century abbey and a fantastic viewpoint. All the necessary shops, two cafés with terraces, a bakery and three restaurants can be found here. At the end of the village, the co-operative cellar offers wine tasting and direct sales. In summer, the villagers regularly organise festivals with music. In Cruzy, a nearby village, there is a lovely farmers' market every Friday. Like many hamlets and other exceptional villages, Quarante is part of the magnificent Occitanie region, which borders the Mediterranean and stretches from the Canal du Midi to the banks of the Orb. All these villages welcome you to the heart of the vineyards of the Saint Chinian, Minervois and Languedoc appellations, just a few kilometres away.
Festivities take place every 3rd Sunday in July (with some exceptions) for the Grande Fête du Cru, the festival of fine wines, in St Chinian. Around 60 stalls offer tastings of wines and local products. Why not opt for the ecological discovery of the region during your excursions and enjoy the unspoilt countryside, preferably on foot, by bike or on horseback, lined with beautiful buildings such as the Capitelles, dry stone walls, mills and chapels.
