Welcome to Mykonos and to the Cambanis Mansion
The Cambanis Residence is an historic mansion in the heart of Mykonos
town, which belongs to the family since 1760. The house is fully
renovated respecting its traditional character.
A brilliant specimen of 18 th c. Cycladic architecture was built in 1713 by
the Mykonian Skordilis family. In 1753 it passed into the possession of
Dimitris Mavrogenis, brother to Nicholas Mavrogenis, the Phanariote
Prince of Wallachia and uncle to Manto Mavrogenous, the heroine of
Greek War of Independence.
How to get there (2 Kampani str, Agia Kyriaki square):
Please, have in mind that cars are not permitted to enter Mykonos
town. Vehicles are permitted until the control barrier, close to
Remezzo bar - 7 min walking distance from the house. Our concierge
could arrange luggage transport by a three wheel motorbike.
A taxi can drop you off at Manto's square at the taxi station.
When you arrive at the old port after Manto's square, follow the quay
having the sea on your right side. Pay attention on the right when you
see the indications Municipal Gallery and turn left at the alley - the
second one after Manto sq.
Continue for about 30 meters till the end of the alley which gives to Agia
Kyriaki square. You have arrived! The house is located on your right
hand, next door to the municipal gallery.
