The setting of the property is outstanding - on a hill surrounded by fields and woodland. Close to Sarlat, a ten-minute drive, the location is well away from the road, so there is no traffic noise and so the experience is one of peace and quiet.
We had access to the swimming pool, shared with one other rental property on the site, and there are some lovely walks across the fields and into the woodlands.
Xavier the owner is very friendly and the arrangements for our stay were well cared for. The booking process itself was very smooth.
The furnishings in the property are basic but the layout of the property inside is generous with a large reception room and dining table in the kitchen, plus tables to enjoy eating al fresco on both sides of the property so that one could have both breakfast and our evening meal in the sun!

I spent two weeks in this house and loved my stay! The house is very comfortable and well-equipped, but the best of all is its location: it is directly on the water and only 15 minutes walk from downtown Saint Omer. It was very convenient, and very very quiet, and the possibility of going out with the boat and navigate the waterways freely is just fantastic. It's a beautiful place which was really worth discovering for me. The owners of the property were also extremely nice and welcoming.
We Thoroughly enjoyed our time staying in this lovely cottage! Monsieur Lauweriere is the perfect host. Monsieur Lauweriere and his family showed us around the property when we arrived and made sure we were happy before they left. I have my own boat so were able to use a dinghy which was there when ever we wanted which was Great and allowed us to explore the area. Monsieur Lauweriere gave us a vey pleasent tour of the waterways around Le Marais Audomarois. It is a beautiful area, much like the Norfolk Broads in the UK, but in my opinion much better! There is lots to do, St. Omer is a lovely place to visit, easy parking in the lower end of the town (free!). Lille is around an hour away and i would recommend going there too.
The cottage is at the end of a lane right next to the waterways, which are full of wildlife, swans, ducks, cuckoo's herrons and much more. The cottage is laid out on two floors, the ground floor being tiled You enter through a lovely and light and airy kitchen with oven, hob, fridge freezer, coffee maker and all the plates etc and cutlery you'll need. The living room is equiped with an arm chair, sofa bed, tv with satellite and cable. The bathroom has a lovely shower, vanity unit and has a washing machine, there is a separate toilet.
Upstairs via steep stairs there are two good sized bedrooms with view across fields to St. Omer. The beds are comfortable and provided with duvets pillows and extra blankets if needed, there is a tv in one of them.
Whether you will be staying for a weekend break, or longer and visiting more of the area, this would be the perfect place to stay. Being only an hour away from the port of Calais and the Tunnel makes this a Great choice. The road from Callais is a breeze, i would recomend the Toll Road which only costs a couple of euros. Though we did go back to Calais on the non toll road which allows you to see more of the gorgeous french country side!
Summing up, i would recommend, and indeed have done to friends and family, staying in this lovely cottage! Monsieur Lauweriere really was a great host, we shared a couple of beers in the garden there and although my french is lacking, as is his english we will be keeping in touch and will Definately be staying there again.
We were allowed to be Marie and Bernard's guests for two weeks and can say that our expectations were exceeded in every way - and that's not because we didn't have any ? We have rented apartments many times in recent years and have never received such a personal and warm welcome. We really enjoyed and appreciated the pleasant conversations, despite the language barrier. We were also provided with really delicious treats from the garden and the homemade jam - especially the fig jam - was a culinary delight.
There was absolutely nothing missing in the house and the complex. The apartment was really very, very well equipped and the self-built grill was a real highlight.
If we can, we would love to come back because we feel really comfortable in the area and with Marie and Bernard.

Wir durften zwei Wochen die Gäste von Marie und Bernard sein und können sagen, dass unsere Erwartungen in wirklich jeder Hinsicht übertroffen wurden – und das liegt nicht daran, dass wir keine gehabt hätten 😊
In den letzten Jahren haben wir schon oft Wohnungen gemietet und noch nie wurden wir so persönlich und herzlich in Empfang genommen. Wir haben die netten Unterhaltungen, trotz großer Sprachbarrieren sehr genossen und geschätzt. Zudem wurden wir mit wirklich köstlichen Leckereien aus dem Garten versorgt und die selbstgemachte Marmelade – insbesondere die Feigenmarmelade war ein kulinarischer Hochgenuss.
In dem Haus und in der Anlage hat es wirklich an nichts gemangelt. Die Wohnung war wirklich sehr, sehr gut ausgestattet und der selbst gebaute Grill war ein echtes Highlight.
Wenn wir es schaffen würden wir sehr gerne wieder kommen, denn in der Gegend und bei Marie und Bernard fühlen wir uns wirklich wohl.

There were 14 of us who discovered this place and it was a delight for everyone. The outdoor space, the greenery, the flowers, the swimming pool as well as the welcoming house itself, full of rooms and beautiful meeting spaces, we liked everything. We had our meals under the arbor, we swam, rested, a real pleasure!
Nous étions 14 à découvrir ce lieu et cela a été un enchantement pour chacun. L'espace à l'extérieur, la verdure, les fleurs, la piscine aussi bien que la maison elle-même accueillante, pleine de chambres et de beaux espaces de rencontres, tout nous a plu. Nous avons pris nos repas sous la tonnelle, nous sommes baignés, reposés, un vrai bonheur!
The apartment is completely renovated, equipped with everything you need, very welcoming and very clean. The location is excellent: private road so very quiet with a view of the greenery. The owners are very kind and helpful, ready to meet the needs/requests of the guests, but at the same time discreet.

La posizione è ottimale: strada privata per cui silenziosissima con vista sul verde.

The apartment, the house, the garden and the pool are exactly as in the pictures; the location and the view are fantastic! The furnishings are well-kept and functional, the kitchen has everything you need. Everything was very clean and tidy. Communication with Adriana was very pleasant, quick and uncomplicated. The hosts are on site and very helpful, but remain discreetly in the background. The winding approach takes some getting used to at first, but the great view makes up for it. The distance to the town and the nearest supermarket is pleasantly short. We can absolutely recommend the property and would book with Adriana again at any time.
Die Wohnung, das Haus, der Garten und der Pool sind extakt wie auf den Bildern; Lage und Aussicht sind fantastisch! Die Ausstattung ist gepflegt und zweckmäßig, in der Küche ist alles vorhanden. Alles war sehr sauber und ordentlich.
Die Kommunikation mit Adriana war sehr angenehm, schnell und unkompliziert. Die Gastgeber sind vor Ort und sehr hilfsbereit, halten sich aber diskret im Hintergrund.
Die kurvige Anfahrt ist anfangs etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber man wird durch die tolle Aussicht absolut entschädigt. Die Entfernung zum Ort und dem nächsten Supermarkt ist angenehm kurz.
Wir können das Objekt absolut empfehlen und würden jederzeit wieder bei Adriana buchen.

We had a very good stay in Ardèche in this small family campsite where we were very well received by this couple Camille and his wife. A swimming pool available is a great way to cool off. The mobile home was very functional. The only downside was that it was a little too close to the road where we could hear the traffic but it was bearable. A very nice shaded space in front to allow us to enjoy eating outside. And the barbecue available was very pleasant. If you want peace and quiet to enjoy activities and visits in southern Ardèche, I recommend this place.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour en Ardèche dans ce petit camping familial où nous avons été très bien accueilli par ce couple Camille et son épouse.
Une piscine à disposition de très bonne augure pour se rafraîchir.
Le mobil-home était très fonctionnel. Seul bémol, un peu trop proche de la route où nous entendions la circulation des véhicules mais c'était supportable.
Un très bel espace ombragé devant pour nous permettre de profiter de manger dehors. Et le barbecue à dispo nous a bien été agréable.
Si vous souhaitez du calme pour profiter des activités, visites en sud Ardèche, je vous recommande cet endroit.

Very relaxing and pleasant place. Pleasant and very spontaneous contact with Laurence, François and their children which contrasts with their discretion. The 12 days spent there were a source of relaxation between swimming pool and pétanque for all 4 of us. Thanks to the owners for the welcome and the good tips for the region.

There is actually everything you need in the kitchen. The bedding is spotless. The cleaning is spotless! Simply, the bar in the profile photo flew away (lots of wind) and was not replaced. And the pool was at 20°.

I spent 1 wonderful month Josette and Denis the owners are exceptional very helpful and attentive lovely people. As for the rental nothing to complain about it is equipped with everything necessary and it is very well located to visit Provence and the best part of this rental is the swimming pool very pleasant and appreciable by its strong heat I will return there with great pleasure.
J'ai passé 1 mois formidable Josette et Denis les propriétaires sont exceptionnels très serviables et attentionnés des personnes adorables. Pour ce qui est de la location rien à redire elle est dotée de tout le nécessaire et elle est très bien située pour visiter la Provence et le plus de cette location c 'est la piscine très agréable et appréciable par ses fortes chaleurs j'y retournerai avec grand plaisir .
