In the small hamlet of Crétaz, near (200 m) Cogne, the most famous municipality of the Gran Paradiso National Park, nature reserve where you can find the typical fauna of the high mountains such as snow hares, ibexes and golden eagles, this part of a two-family house awaits you in a former barn made of wood and stone from the 19th century. The accommodation is on two levels, on the mezzanine floor there is the living room with dining area and fireplace, an equipped small panoramic terrace, a small kitchen and the bathroom. The upper mansard floor (minimum height 1.50 m) is reached by a wooden staircase, here there is a double bedroom, a room with bunk beds and the toilet. From the outside you have access to a small garden equipped for outdoor dining, shared with the apartment below and overlooking the river. Stone barbecue (wood). The balcony offers a charming view over the entire valley. Good starting point for excursions to the valleys of Grauson and Arpisson, popular destination for ski mountaineers and ice climbers both in summer and winter. The wide basin of Cogne offers more than 70 km of ski slopes and the nearest are only 500 m from the house. Possibility to: trekking, rafting and ski. From Crétaz you can reach the famous Courmayeur at the foot of Monte Bianco (50 km) or Gressonay (100 km), the vibrant heart of Monte Rosa, with its large ski area (170 km of slopes), which connects with Alagna. Ideal starting point for visiting the ancient castles in the area, such as Ussel Castle with breathtaking views of surrounding mountains and valleys. For ice climbing enthusiasts, only 2.5 km from the house are the famous waterfalls of Lilaz: more than 50 waterfalls at 1700 m above sea level, with up to 250 m of climbing.
